External & Internal Constraints

External and internal constraints are described in the book to me as factors that contribute to the way we make decisions. External constraints deals more with the decision-making process while internal constraints seem to apply directly to the deep-seated problem or conflict.
An example of an external constraint that impact my life is my community, (childhood friends). My future endeavors are to get a degree and make it out of my community, but my community (childhood friends) sometimes serve a constraint that holds me back from reaching my goals. I struggle between committing to community matters, which can negatively influence my life, and school which serves as a greater outlook for my future. My community holds me back because sometimes it can take me away from school and pose as a barrier to my success.
An example of an internal constraint that I experience in my life is confusion. Confusion makes it hard for me to choose between my community and school. I am confused because I feel obligated to my community, but also to myself, my well-being, and successes. I know that in order for me to achieve my goals I have to leave my community (childhood friends) behind. However, it is just difficult to choose between what I love, my love ones, and aspirations which leaves me confuse.
