I’ve never really thought of myself as a creative person. But
if there was one instance in my life where I thought I might have been creative
was in organizing a way for me and my roommates to keep the house clean. Since
it is four of us I thought that it would make it simple if we divided the house
cleaning in half every Sunday. My roommate and I would clean the bathroom, while
my other roommates who stayed in a room together would do the kitchen; then the
next week we would switch. The reason I did this is because I felt it was an
easy and effective way to keep the house clean on a regular basis. I felt this
kind of fit into this chapter’s discussion because the book states creativity
is defined as “when you do something new, different, and helpful” (p.162). I think
what I did was somewhat helpful and was an effective way of making sure everyone
contributed to keeping the house clean.
Thank you for sharing, your thoughts on creativity. You are not the only one who may not consider themselves the most creative, many have a difficult time finding their creative gene. As we read in this chapter there are barriers that block our creative ability. We also read of techniques that encourage our creativity. I'm glad, however that you and your roommates have used your creative ability to become more organized. I agree with your definition that; creativity is defined as “when you do something new, different, and helpful .” I think that you defined creativity clearly, as well as gave a accurate example. I loved your bog and think you did well. Thank you again for sharing and good work.
